The Fallen Nest
After a spring storm, a Scout found a robin's nest on the ground with two tiny birds still inside. The Scout did not know much about birds, but knew who to ask. A quick call to a wildlife center, a few careful steps, and the nest was back in the branches, tucked in tight. By evening, the mother robin was back.
The Scout Law says a Scout is Kind. Kindness reaches beyond people. It includes animals and all living things. Being kind means using our strength and knowledge to protect those who can't protect themselves, and knowing when to ask for help to do it right.
This week, do something kind for an animal or for nature. Fill a bird feeder, help care for a pet, or pick up trash where animals live. Small kindness to small creatures still counts.
