The Cake That Leaned
Imagine a grown-up carrying a cake to a picnic. One side has sunk. The icing slides toward the plate. Another grown-up takes a look, then gets a knife and plates. No jokes about the cake. Just a warm smile and a place on the table.
The Scout Law says a Scout is Kind. That means treating others as we want to be treated. If you worked hard on something, you would want people to see your care, not just your mistakes. We can look for the feeling behind a face. We can be gentle with animals, too. A pet that knocks something over needs calm help, not an angry shout. Kindness makes room for mistakes.
This week, when someone makes a mistake, give them the kind words you would want to hear. If an animal makes a mess, stay calm and ask an adult to help.
