The Backup Copy
Imagine spending an evening building a trip plan with your crew. Routes, meals, rides, all finally settled. Then the file vanishes. For a moment, nobody speaks. Someone opens a backup copy. Every person's work is still there. You can start again without starting over.
The Scout Law point Loyal asks us to be that kind of support for people, not just their plans. We stay invested when things get messy. Loyalty to family, friends, Scout leaders, school, and nation is not pretending every choice is right. It means protecting what is worth keeping and helping fix what is wrong. We do not discard a whole relationship because one part needs repair.
This week, choose one relationship that has gotten strained or neglected. Make time for it. Ask what needs attention, listen without defending yourself, and agree on one small thing you can repair together.
