Learn the Name
A Scoutmaster once made a promise to himself: learn the name of every new Scout by the end of their first meeting. Some nights, that meant writing names on his hand. One new Scout later told his parents the best part of joining was simple. "He already knew my name."
A person's name matters to them. Using it tells them they are seen and remembered. The Scout Law says a Scout is Friendly, and one of the friendliest things you can do is remember who someone is. It turns a stranger into a friend faster than almost anything.
This week, learn the names of three people you don't know well yet. Maybe a new Scout, a classmate, or a neighbor. Use their name the next time you see them. Watch how they light up.
