A Promise About Saturday
A leader I know once promised to help a neighbor move a couch on Saturday morning. Friday night, a friend called with tickets to a big game. Same Saturday. Same morning. He thought about it for a long time. Then he called his friend back and said, "Thanks, but I already gave my word." The couch got moved. The game went on without him.
Being Trustworthy means your word is worth something. When you say you will be somewhere, you show up. When you say you will do something, it gets done. A promise is a small thing to make and a big thing to keep.
This week, make one promise and keep it all the way. Maybe it is a chore, a homework deadline, or a job for your patrol. When it is done, notice who now trusts you a little more.
