Until It Sends

Imagine a ferry terminal just before boarding. A traveler keeps trying to send a job application, but the connection drops. Another adult offers a phone hotspot, then stays beside the bench until the upload finishes. Helping takes more than sharing a password. It takes staying.

The Scout Law point Helpful means caring about others and doing good turns without expecting reward. Sometimes we offer a tool and assume the job is done. But the person may still need our time. That does not mean taking over. Ask what would help, respect the answer, and see your offer through. On a crew or ship, trust grows when people know your help will last beyond the easy part.

This week, offer someone help with a task they are struggling to finish. Agree on what you can do, then stay with your part until it is done. Expect no favor in return.
