Three Good Things
A coach once noticed her team grumbling after every practice. So she tried something new. Before anyone could leave, each player had to name three good things that happened that day. At first, the answers were short. "Practice is over." But after a few weeks, the answers got longer, and the grumbling got quieter.
Cheerfulness grows when we notice good things. Our brains are good at spotting problems. They need practice spotting blessings. A Scout is Cheerful, and one way to stay cheerful is to train your mind to look for what is going right.
This week, every night before bed, think of three good things that happened that day. Write them down if you like. By the end of the week, see if your mood has changed. Cheerfulness is a muscle, and this is the workout.
