The Yellow Roof

At a kitchen table, a parent painted a wooden birdhouse blue. Then came the yellow roof. But the first stroke turned green. Blue paint was still hiding in the brush. A careful rinse changed the next stroke. Now the yellow could shine.

The Scout Law point Clean asks us to care for our bodies, minds, words, and surroundings. Like that brush, we carry things from one moment into the next. Mud needs soap and water. An upsetting video may call for a different choice. An angry mood needs a breath before it becomes a hurtful sentence. A messy campsite needs our care. Clean is not about looking perfect. It is about noticing what needs attention and doing something kind about it.

This week, pick one daily cleanup for your body, mind, words, or surroundings. Do it for seven days, and notice what you carry into the next moment.
