The High Dive
At the town pool, a Cub Scout climbed the ladder to the high dive. Halfway up, the Cub Scout froze. Kids were waiting below. It would have been easy to climb back down. Instead, the Cub Scout took a deep breath, walked to the edge, held their nose, and jumped. The splash was huge, and so was the grin.
Being Brave doesn't mean you're never scared. It means you feel scared and do the right thing anyway. Every time you try something new and hard, you grow a little braver. A Scout is Brave one small step at a time.
This week, try one thing that makes you a little nervous. Raise your hand in class, try a new food, or say hello to someone new. Then tell your family about it at dinner. Be proud of your splash.
