Summer Growth

Scouts, as we head into summer, think about the trees around us. Right now they are in their peak growing season, with longer days, warm weather, and plenty of chance to stretch toward the sun. They will add more growth now than all winter.

Summer gives you the same chance to grow in Scouting. With school out, this is the perfect time to tackle rank requirements you have been putting off. Hike those miles, work on merit badges at camp, or take on a leadership role during our summer activities. But trees do not grow by accident, and your advancement will not happen on its own. Our motto is Be Prepared, and that starts with a plan. Maybe it is earning your next rank before school starts, finishing three merit badges, or mastering a new skill. Don't let this summer just drift by. Use it to grow.

This week, write down one advancement goal for the summer and share it with your patrol leader so they can help you reach it.
