Still Full of Color

Imagine a grown-up making a birthday card. The crayon box holds lots of short stubs. Time for a new box? Not yet! A red stub makes a bright balloon. A blue one makes the sky. Soon the card is full of color. Those little pieces still had work to do.

The Scout Law point Thrifty means we work to pay our way, save, and take care of what we have. It is about seeing the good still left in our things. We can earn money with a job a parent approves. We can save some for later. We can put our crayons away so they are ready next time.

This week, choose one thing you already own. Use it with care, then put it where it belongs. Before you ask for something new, check what you have. There may be more fun left!
