Managing Your Time

Scouts, one of the most valuable things you have is time. Unlike money, you cannot earn more of it. Once a moment is gone, it is gone for good. That is why learning to manage your time is so important.

Imagine packing for a campout. If you throw everything in your pack without a plan, you end up disorganized, hauling a heavy, clumsy load. Pack thoughtfully, bringing just what you need in the right spots, and the trip goes smoothly. Time works the same way. The Scout Law says a Scout is thrifty, and that means not wasting time any more than money. Put first things first: school, family, your Scout responsibilities, and some well-earned fun. Make a plan and stick to it as best you can. Managing time is not about being busy every minute. It is about making the most of the time you have.

This week, write a simple plan for each day before it starts, and check off what you finish. Pack your time wisely, Scouts.
