Fresh Water Was Not Enough

Imagine a small birdbath beside a garden path. An adult fills it with fresh water, then notices a soggy clump of leaves at the bottom. The water is new, but the leaves are still there. So the adult empties it, scrubs it, and fills it again.

The Scout Law point Clean asks us to care for what we carry, inside and out. We wash our bodies. We give our minds things worth thinking about. We choose words that do not leave someone feeling small. We care for the places we share. That does not mean we never get muddy or have an angry thought. It means we notice what needs care and do something about it. Fresh water alone was not the whole job.

This week, make a four-part clean check each evening: body, mind, words, and surroundings. Pick one thing that needs care, and take one small action before bed.
