Finding Peace
Scouts, I want to close tonight by asking you a question: where do you find peace? For some of you, it might be right here, under the stars, away from the noise of everyday life. There is a reason we come out to the woods.
Nature has a way of quieting things down. But real peace is not about where you are. It is about who you are on the inside. A Scout who is honest, prepared, and living their values carries a kind of calm wherever they go, even on a hard day at school, during an argument at home, or on a tough stretch of trail. The twelfth point of the Scout Law says a Scout is reverent, thoughtful about something bigger than themselves. That quiet moment of reflection is where peace often begins.
This week, each night before you sleep, put the phone away, take a breath, and name one thing you did well and one thing you are grateful for. Peace is practiced.
