Different Meal, Same Friendship

Imagine two adult friends who always ate lunch together at work. Then one switched to the night shift. Suddenly their usual table was empty. They could have let the friendship fade. Instead, they found a new routine: breakfast together one Saturday a month. Different meal. Same friendship.

The Scout Law point Loyal means being true to the people and communities counting on us. Sometimes that takes a little rearranging. A friendship can matter even when you no longer share a class. Family still matters when your schedule gets crowded. Your troop still needs you after your closest friend leaves. Loyalty does not require everything to stay the same. It asks us to keep making room for people when things change.

This week, choose someone you have drifted away from because your routines changed. Reach out and suggest one simple thing you can do together. Then help make it happen.
