Bottle Cap Forty-Two

At a service project, a den had to pick up litter in a park on a hot afternoon. A few Cub Scouts started dragging their feet. Then one started counting every bottle cap out loud like a game show host. "Bottle cap number forty-two! The crowd goes wild!" Soon everyone was counting, laughing, and racing to find the next one.

A Scout is Cheerful, even when the job is hard or boring. A good attitude can turn a chore into fun, and it can spread to everyone around you. Cheerful people make work go faster for the whole group.

This week, when you have a chore you don't like, find a way to make it fun. Sing, count, race the clock, or turn it into a game. Then tell us at the next meeting what you came up with.
