Both Sides of the Light
Imagine setting a lantern on a picnic table after dark. It glows, but the light barely reaches your map. You wipe the outside cover. Better, not great. Then you open it and find dust inside, too. Cleaning just the part everyone sees was only half the job.
The Scout Law point Clean asks us to care for more than our appearance. Wash your body and look after the places you use. But check the less visible parts, too: what you feed your mind and how you speak. That does not mean pretending you never have an ugly thought. It means deciding which thoughts deserve your attention, and which words deserve to leave your mouth.
This week, make one cleanup outside and one inside: clear a shared space, then replace one cruel comment you were about to send with something honest and respectful. Let both changes show.
