Before the Doors Open
Imagine helping set up a concert. Minutes before the doors open, someone stacks equipment cases across an emergency exit. Everyone is rushing. You notice, but the person directing the setup seems annoyed already. Your stomach tightens. Still, you point out the blocked door and ask where the cases can safely go.
The Scout Law point Brave includes moments like that. Nobody needs you to look fearless. They need you to care enough to speak while your stomach is still tight. Respecting someone does not mean ignoring a hazard because they are in charge. You can be calm, specific, and firm. Sometimes standing up for what is right starts with one useful question that interrupts everybody's hurry.
This week, practice one calm way to raise a safety concern. Then, if something feels unsafe at work, aboard a boat, or during an outing, speak up before going along. Let your voice protect someone.
