A Sled in Summer
Imagine a dad cleaning the garage on a hot day. He finds his sled under a pile of boxes. Snow feels far away. Still, he wipes the sled dry and puts it safely on a hook. When winter comes, it is ready for the hill.
The Scout Law says a Scout is Thrifty. That means we work to pay our way, save, and take care of what we have. The dad did not need a new sled. He needed to care for the one he had. A little care today can leave money for something we need later.
This week, pick one thing you want to keep using. Ask a grown-up how to clean it and where to put it away. Then ask about a small job you could do to earn money. Save what you earn for a need, not just a want.
