A Clear Way Out
Imagine an adult volunteer setting out chairs for a neighborhood movie night. The room looks ready until she notices that extra chairs block the emergency exit. Everyone wants the movie to start. Her stomach tightens. She raises her hand anyway and asks for help clearing the way.
The Scout Law point Brave is not about having a quiet stomach. It is about doing what is right while your stomach is doing flips. That volunteer could have decided that someone else would notice. Instead, she risked a few annoyed looks to help keep everyone safe. Courage does not always mean going toward danger. Sometimes it means stopping a plan, asking a question, or getting help.
This week, if a plan feels unsafe, speak up before joining in. Tell a trusted adult what worries you, and ask for help making the plan safer.
