The Iceberg in the Sink
Imagine an adult defrosting a freezer on a Saturday morning. There are towels everywhere and other things they would rather do. A chunk of melting frost lands in the sink. They grin. Their boring chore has just produced an iceberg.
The Scout Law point Cheerful asks us to look for the bright side and do tasks with a good attitude. That does not mean every job is fun. It does not mean hiding sadness or pretending we are never tired. It means we can notice a little humor without dropping our responsibilities. The freezer still needs cleaning. But a grin can make the next few minutes lighter for us and for anyone working nearby.
This week, pick one chore you usually dread. Look for something amusing or satisfying while you work, and share it with someone helping you. Then finish the job with that same spirit.
