Still Rough Around the Edges
Picture an adult smoothing a rough picnic table. One sheet of sandpaper looks worn out, so it heads toward the trash. Then the adult turns it sideways. The edges are still rough. Wrapped around a small wood block, those edges finish the job. Nothing new comes out of the package.
The Scout Law point Thrifty asks us to notice what we still have, not just what we want next. Being thrifty is not about having the cheapest things. It means working to pay our way, saving for what matters, and caring for what we own. When we make supplies last, the money we earn can go toward the next adventure instead of another package.
This week, choose one supply you use at home. With your family, find a safe way to waste less of it, and put any money saved toward a shared goal.
