Holding the Door
At a busy store, a Scout held the door for a mom pushing a stroller. Then for an older man with a cane. Then for a delivery driver with a stack of boxes. The line kept coming. By the time the Scout let go, five people had said thank you, and a few of them were smiling for the first time all morning.
A Scout is Courteous. Good manners are not old-fashioned. They are small ways of showing respect. Please, thank you, holding a door, letting someone go first. These little acts tell people that they matter and that we are paying attention.
This week, practice three courtesies every day. Hold a door, say thank you to someone who serves you, and let someone go ahead of you in line. Keep track of how people respond. Courtesy is contagious.
