Being Clean
Scouts, think about something for a moment. When you wake up and look in the mirror, what do you see? Maybe messy hair, sleepy eyes, and yesterday's adventures still clinging to your clothes. Now ask yourself what the mirror cannot show.
The Scout Law tells us a Scout is clean. Sure, that means a shower, brushed teeth, and fresh clothes. But it goes deeper than soap and water. Being clean means speaking words that build people up instead of tearing them down. It means making choices you would be proud to tell your family or your patrol about. Think of a mountain stream, clear and refreshing. When we keep ourselves clean in body, mind, and spirit, we are like that stream. People want to be around us, and we can lead by example.
This week, each morning at the mirror, ask yourself: am I as clean as I can be, inside and out? Then go live the answer. Be prepared!
